I was in my mom's bedroom the first time I ever learned who/what Gorillaz were. She had her TV on some random channel and I was in there messing around, when one of those Top 40 Hits commercials came on. I was immediately captivated by what I saw, an animated music video for what I came to know as Feel Good Inc. by Gorillaz. That was the catalyst for my Damon Albarn obsession. For the next 7 or so years I fanboy'd over this group constantly, buying all the releases with Christmas money and memorizing even the most obscure tracks by the group (I now as a 24 year old man have a tattoo of Noodle on my left arm).

Fast forward to 2018, 19 year old me, living on my own in my first apartment. My Gorillaz fandom had settled down but my hip-hop love was all the way up, and I was just dipping my toes in Kanye West's discography. Say whatever you want about the guy, but his early contributions to music and culture are MONUMENTAL. His minimalistic drum approach mixed with huge synths and distorted vocals have been incredibly influential on all forms of modern music, to name some of things he's contributed.

So I decided to combine two geniuses, Damon Albarn and Kanye West, into one record titled JESUS DAYS, featuring full length remixes of Kanye West tracks with Gorillaz samples/references/sound clips. I've been working on this for over a year and a half and I am INCREDIBLY excited to share this with the world. I hope it can refresh some classics for you all, and whether you are a die hard Gorillaz or Kanye West fan, I'm sure you will get some enjoyment out of it! Thanks 🙂
